Tayko Jones brings “Garage Jazz” to The Matthews for an album release show celebrating their self-titled debut.

Led by saxophonist Joel Shotwell, guitarist Mark Romanowski, bassist and cellist Jon Bakken, and drummer Christian DeJong, the band blends the grit of 80s and 90s grunge with the freedom of fusion and traditional jazz. Expect music built on groove and tone, with plenty of room for improvisation, exploration, and surprise.

Join us Friday, October 9, 2026 at 7:00 PM for an original night of live music in downtown Spearfish. General admission tickets are $25. This is the kind of show where jazz fans, rock listeners, and anyone who loves seeing a band stretch out in real time can find something to grab onto.
